Arthur Street, North Hobart

Arthur Street brought up many issues:

  • A small block.
  • Working with an existing early 1900’s home that wasn’t square or level.
  • To get legal access with stairs to an existing attic room without moving walls.
  • Extension to give a new/old feel (exposing the existing brick wall of the original house).

Atwell Court, Lindisfarne

Atwell Court had many challenges being a small 420m2 block:

  • Lower-level garage breached front and rear setbacks.
  • Privacy for neighbours and owner outdoors.
  • Privacy inside using windows raised off the floor. This allowed for furnishings to go against walls.
  • Shadowing of neighbouring houses.
  • Cantilevering was used on the upper level to give the feel that it was floating.
  • Timber was used throughout as features.
  • Energy efficient.

Bilney Street, Richmond

Bilney Street was a lovely house to design. Our client was fantastic to lease with. The only issue was for the trucks to access up the snaking driveway which was tree lined.

Corlacus Drive, Kingston

Corlacus Drive was based with the look of Palm Springs homes. Large windows, large eaves and a pool. This was done on a very tight budget.

Oceana Drive, Tranmere

Oceana Drive unit development was difficult block:

  • Driveway was reaching maximum slopes.
  • The footprint for the units was small.
  • Get maximum view for both units.

Sunvale Avenue, Sandy Bay

Sunvale Avenue gave us many challenges:

  • Very steep side slope.
  • Needed to maximise views down the valley.
  • Setback and height issues.
  • Privacy issues.

Tingira Road, Blackmans Bay

Tingira Road was built on a very tight budget. Colours and timbers used to blend in with the environment.

Weston Hill Road, Sorell

Weston Hill Road is a country-style home. Some main features:

  • Spotted Gum ship lap cladding.
  • Polished concrete slab.
  • Timber-lined ceiling in living area.
  • Amazing views.
  • Energy efficient.
